Department of Information Technology arranged a five days intense course on Image Processing using MATLAB

Department of Information Technology arranged a five days intense course on Image Processing using MATLAB from 25th to 29th January 2016. The course focused on basic concepts in Image Processing to advanced applications and practices with hands on experience in laboratory using MATLAB. The course was designed as a lab based course with duration of more than six hours each day for students and faculty members. The course aim to prepare the senior students of BCS for conducting research in Image Processing and their Final Year Project by addressing the practical and hand-on aspect.

Dr. Muhammad Sajjad from Islamia College Peshawar was the resource person of the course, he has received his PhD degree from Intelligent Media lab (IM Lab), Sejong University Seoul, South Korea under supervision Prof. Dr. Sung Wook Baik. He is experienced and renowned professional with experience of academia and industry. Dr. Sajjad promised scholarship and joint research opportunities to brilliant students from the course in the IM Lab Sejong University. He highly appreciated the interest of the students and hailed the efforts of the departments in arranging such a course. He highly appreciated the achievements of IT faculty members in research publications and winning ICT R&D projects.
The course was designed as a lab based course with duration of more than six hours each day for students and faculty members. More than 35 students from our own department and affiliated college such as Govt. Post graduate College (GPGC) for boys and GPGC for women Haripur participated in the course. Mr. Israr-ur-Rehman and Miss Qudssiya Bano represented the student delegations of the respective colleges. The feedback was very encouraging and it was insisted that the course may be arranged once more before the start of the Fall 2016 semester.
